I see the customer base for the Mount and the Dive as pretty different. No reason they can't coexist

They are moving around more. This morning at about 10 AM it was just west of Timber Island.

Say-hey......maybe the Dive can stop at the very sandy Gov Island two tennis court beach area, lower the launch ramps, hit the beach, and have a beach party ....... is totally doable ..... everyone is welcome to drop on in and land their helicopters in the tennis courts ..... just be aware of the tennis players.
Make mine a Red Bull w/ tequila ...... roger that! ...... over!

With a 60' long barge like that, it's got to be about an 80' run to hook up the steering cables from the steering wheel in the pilot house, up front, to the twin E-Tec 250's on the stern?
Who knows, maybe the outboards have a tiller handle, and it gets steered from the stern, with a hand on the tiller? ....helloooo .... captain here to engine room .... turn it a little to the left ..... and straighten out ...... and maintain speed ..... over

I just don't see how they can make a go of it long term. Lake pretty dead during the week even during summer (thankfully) and weekend business cannot possibly sustain them.

44' x 20' is the dimensions for a pickleball court, so's maybe they could build a pickleball court on the top deck, and go after the pickleball player demographic.
Add a big water slide for sliding off the back of the boat between playing pickleball ........ and it could be a big hit with the growing pickleball demographic in the lakes region. Top deck could host pickleball on weekdays, and raise the prices for adult beverages on the week ends, or something? ..... and go for a $12.50-pickleball cruise to no-where, leaving from West Alton Marina every week day at 9-am. ... could be fun! The Dive - floating pickleball team league events - ice out to ice in! ....and rename The Dive to become The Pickle.

Wow. The article said they spent close to a million on this operation. Wonder what they will do in the spring when the water is too cold for people to wade over to them at the sandbar?

I think, as was aforementioned, a sturdy, stable shuttle craft (small pontoon?) would fill that bill nicely.

I surely respect the entrepreneurial drive behind spending that much money. To me they either had the money to begin with and could've just kicked back and relaxed or took a big risk. Either way kudos from me on taking the chance, not many of us would have.

I think the point is 600k is not the better part of 1M your off by 40% not close and if you borrowed the funds the debt service between 1M and 600k is significant by way of sales needed to cover the additional 400k debt service. Sent from my iPhone using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

In this case as I stated there is a tremendous difference in either an investment of 1 million compared to 600k or if you borrowed the funds paying the difference in debt service between the two. Sent from my iPhone using Winnipesaukee Forum mobile app |

Out of curiosity, and in need of a new destination, we took a ride to The Dive late in the day yesterday from Buzzells Cove, with the intent to check it out, and maybe do a drive by. We did not expect the welcome and encouragement to stop by by the handful of customers on board (4-5) as well as the staff. We had 2 dogs which we were told were welcome to join the owners dog already there. I dropped off the dogs and 3 other family members directly to The Dive, dropped anchor and waded over. We had a beer, and I warmed up by the fire, and stayed about an hour. Betsy, Jamie and crew could not have been more helpful and appreciative of us coming out on the grey day. We will be back and wish them all the best.

Have never seen a barge like that powered by two stroke 250hp Evinrude e-tecs. Seems like the Lake Winni construction barges go with Honda which is a four stroke and probably has way more torq than a two stroke. Tow strokes are notoriously not very torqy which translates to not enough pushing power.
What does the Coast Guard use on their patrol boats? CG uses Honda. Maybe a tugboat powered by a diesel towing The Dive on a tow line could be doable?

Considering the experience to owners of The Dive represented they have in the marine industry I am extremely surprised at the level it is underpowered.

Your idea about striking a deal with Watermark sounds like it could work as far allowing the Dive to move to a different sandbar. However, I don't think that will make them any more money and may cost more because of paying Watermark. Still a short season as previously discussed.
As far as marine patrol ticketing, based on FB post they are ticketing now not just giving verbal and moving them out. |

I wonder how the "Winnipesaukee Forum Fest 2019" on the "Dive" is going to go next summer.

Did anyone make it to The Dive this weekend? Curious if you were able to drop off people on these chilly days.
It would be a fun place to watch the game when it's a 1:00 game like yesterday.

Drop off was open this past weekend and also you can now order food on the app and pick up at the drive thru window. Obviously with the weather and schools in NH, MA, Ct, NY back in session Smalls Cove was not crowded at all and the Dive did not look very busy.

Even with drop off open some one still needs to anchor and wade/walk to the dive. Water still warm but air was cold and no one wants to sit outside with wet clothes on a cold day. They need a shuttle if they want to attract business this time of year.

I absolutely agree. I was just responding to a previous post. If they are going to continue to operate this time of year and later into the fall then they must devise some type of shuttle service for the captain of the boats dropping people.

Driving past on Rt 25 thought I saw The Dive tied up to the long dock at the Center Harbor Inn, so's I drove down to the Center Harbor town beach there and sure enough, the bow of The Dive is right up against the outermost end of that long dock there.
Looks like Center Harbor welcomes The Dive, or something? Saw it there at 4:00-pm, on Friday. Facebook says it has a private party. Maybe it will show in the Center Harbor Inn web cam?
