I read about this type of trap years ago on a boating forum. I don't have a mouse problem, but if I did, this would be my solution, too. And if it is winter, you can use anti-freeze in the bucket so the water doesn't freeze.

I don't think there's anybody that doesn't have a mouse problem this year unless you have a cat that is a good mouser! You might not see them but most likely you have them.

I bought one of the commercial sonic units. As I remember, it came from Northern Tool.....has 3 settings for different problems.
Used it in basement of an older home and it not only got rid of mice but never even saw a spider or a moth.
