Meredith power outage

Looks like 29% of Meredith is currently without power. Curious if anyone knows what's going on?

Power came on here at East Bear Island at 11:00AM. Yeah!!! 🐻

Nhec says they called to warn of planned outages for Bear, but we and our neighbors got no call. The phone rep says outages from 8:30-2:30 thru Friday in order to clear trees away. What a bummer!
Anybody else irritated by this?

What contact information do they have of yours? Don't blame them for not calling if they don't have accurate info to contact you.

I got a VM both at home and a text on my cell.

I give them credit for being proactive and getting this done.

Power came back on today (Wednesday) at 2:42 PM on East Bear Island. Went off at 8:10 AM. Similar outages scheduled through this Friday. Notice left on our answering machine last week. 🕯

I attributed no blame. Can I not be irritated?

I also got no call text or e-mail about the planned outages. I get all their advertising and a phone call about their conference calls so it was not a matter of bad contact information. They also know my address on bear when I call in an outage from my cell as it is tied to my account. Can live with it as their work is necessary, but was irritated as I had a lot of work to do that involved needing electric as I was beginning the close up process. Got up early this morning to get more work done before no power for 6 hours. We talked to the workers and they said probably no work on Friday due to the busy weekend.

Praying for a reprieve from power outage today. We have electric baseboard heat, but now we’re talking about a wood stove insert for the fireplace

Bear Island power went off at 2:30 this morning , but I saw no lights on Meredith neck so assumed mainland was out, too. A good thing because crews restored power within an hour or so. Had the outage been on the island there would have been a long delay👍

Walked into the Plymouth Walmart on Wednesday morning, October 17, 2018, at about 7:30am to get the usual half gallon of milk for 1.61, and to my surprise, all the refrigerated food shelves for like 100-yards going around the corner were empty or being emptied, with signs taped to the shelves announcing: "Electrical Outage, Spoiled Food, Not for Sale."

There was no milk, butter, yogurt, cheese, fresh meats, packaged meats, and many many various items..... like, thousands and thousands of dollars worth of wasted packaged food items for a huge length of refrigerated display shelves ..... about 100-yards length.....and, supposedly it all got discarded?

Looking closely at some of the packaged cheese and polish kielbasa through their plastic packaging .... it looked very good enough to eat .... as it all was quickly getting removed and carted away.

One woman employee admonished me while I was taking a closer look ..... and said ..... none of this is for sale .... it all is going into the dumpster!

Maybe it could be trucked up to that huge cow farm up north, where Rt 93 ends, about 90-minutes north, and feed it to the cows? Is a very different world up there.
