I was at the lake last weekend and saw that the Marquee on the Drive-n has been taken down. I know it was damaged during the winter.
I went to the lake links section of the Winni website and clicked on the Drive-in and now find that the link is dead. Does anyone know if the Drive-in will open this year?? I am hoping that it is still a viable operation. It would be a shame to see another landmark close at the lake |

I know they put up some steel posts last week that look to be replacements for the sign that were damaged (I think it was a car, not weather, but I'm not sure).

They are on the sponsor's list for Bike Weeks 2006. This is usually a sign that they intend to be around. I realize it becomes a big parking lot and concession area during the event, but they are on the list as the Weirs Drive-In.

The Weirs Drive In has been a fixture for many years and I hope it is always around. With todays economic picture I am concerned that there will be some point were the land is more valuable to a developer than it is to the drive-in.
If you see any information about the future of this landmark let us know. Thanks

I'm pleased to let you all know, a new Weirs Beach Drive-in sign went up yesterday. Looks a lot like the old one, but I think this ones digital.

The Weirs Beach Drive-In opened this weekend, showing Mission Impossible III and Failure To Launch.
