Ya know, up till sometime around 1930, the Weirs shoreline was all rocky. From the 1930's through the 1970's, the sandy beach was made bigger and bigger and bigger, with sand dredged up from the channel and trucked from outside sand pits. From the movie clip above, the elevated walkway over the water, going out to Endicott Rock has been replaced by a now old concrete walkway and a rock jetty.

That spot is actually a great place to go sup paddle boarding. On most days, you can park in the Laconia beach p-lot, within 30' of the water, Weirs Channel, for 8-quarters/hour, unload your sup, hit the channel, and go paddle out around Endicott Rock and over towards the docked Mount Washington, along outside the swim rope line for the public beach; maybe 500-yards paddle. If you get into trouble there with the big waves, there's usually lifeguards there, who would help, even though it's out beyond the rope line. Plus, no one seems to mind if you beach your sup on the north end, closer to the Mount, and use the beach or the public restroom.

Now in 2019, if The Dive actually happens just north of the 230' Mount Washington cruise ship there, you can go sup paddling over to The Dive there, just for something to do?

WWII began in Poland—1939, but agree, most of these parked cars were definitely from the late 30s.

One of car models parked lakeside appears in front of the Capitol building on Pearl Harbor Day (1941). The same day, the same model also appears fragmented by a bomb among Pearl Harbor photographs. Was its radio tuned to a broadcast of Isolationists?

Parked nearest the entrance is a Ford "Business Man's Coupe", AKA, the "Three Window Coupe". Usually "chopped" and "channeled" for hot-rods from the 1950s. Pontiac made a eponymous coupe through the same years.

'Best as I can figure, years for the Ford "Business Man's Coupe" were 1934 to 1938. For ventilation, the windshield hinged forward (to open at the bottom), and the rear window rolled down.

I never said anything about alcoholic beverages..... not me, no way .... just a quart water bottle that fits tight into the sup cup holder, and empty enough so it will float ..... and a very long sup paddle for some strenuous paddling. The sups usually stay closer to the shore, where the motor boats usually do not go? Is one big, happy, Weirs boating area ..... and very scenic ..... a natural sup type of a water place ...... paddle-ho!
