Actually that's not true, to obtain a 10% veteran's discount at Lowes requires that you establish a My Lowes account and in the process of getting that you must provide proof of service. This is easily done online since they can validate your service number against the VA. It is only offered to those who have been honorably discharged, active duty or in the reserves.

Once your card is issued that is scanned at the time you check out where the discount is applied. They DO NOT give that discount out without a validated My Lowes card.

Kudos to Lowes for doing this and they really do take 10% off everything every day no limits even off sale prices.
