Back Bay Bridge Clearance

Hello All

My name is Mike and I'm new to Winnipesauke and the forum. Thanks for having me.
Moved to the Back Bay Area last year and I'm thinking about getting a boat. I have been looking at a Lund Impact 1875 Sport XS. I would like to moor it in Back Bay but my concern is the BB Bridge. I read some posts here dated Feb 2017 and they mentioned the bridge clearance is 4.2 feet (50.4 inches ) at full lake level.
Today at the dealer we measured from the top of the windshield to the ctr of the chime and it was about 50 inches. Thats close. I realize that this is not the most accurate way to measure bridge clearance but its winter. I know there are a lot of variables,,how many people in the boat,,how much fuel,,seasons,,,rain,,etc.
My question is does anybody have any experience with a Lund of similar size and the BBB. I have seen a Lund 2000 Sport Angler moored at Wolfetrap so I assume he is able to get to the main lake.
If anybody has any ideas..suggestions,, comments or is seeing something I am totally missing,,,Im all ears

Not an expert on this topic but of course time of year plays a part. High spring water maybe tight. I can tell you having pulled in there form the bayside it's intimidating with the current and I wimp out.

Not too sure how the stand-up paddle boarders impact the Back Bay bridge area for motor boats, cause there's two different sup rental, and sup class dock locations close to both sides of the bridge there: www.divewinnipesaukee.com and www.fullmoonpaddleboard.com? Is mostly women in bikinis, just thought I'd mention it as a heads up?

With two-way traffic, motor boats, sups, and low overhead, maybe it needs to be replaced by a drawbridge? So, how do sailboats make it through?

remember that your chime will be underwater not riding the water line so that should buy you some more space. I had no problem in summer running my old Lund 1650 Classic side console under but have yet to try with my 1850 Crossover with full wind shield as it just feels too tight. Miss hitting the Wolf Trap for lunch when on the lake...

I had a boat with similar clearance, you shouldn’t have any issue. I had room to spare going under. I’ve seen bigger boats go under that bridge.

Great choice in a boat if you get it. Can't beat a LUND. That 1850 is a NICE boat.

So intrigued by your question and having been under this bridge quite a few times I went out this morning in my garage and did an "estimated" measurement of my boat similar to what you did however I know where the water line is give or take an inch or two with the boat empty. I measured 50" again this is fuzzy and approximate.

That said I typically have 3-4 people in the boat when I've gone under the bridge and the clearance is wicked tight maybe at best had 3" to spare. The bridge is higher off the water by a few inches on the BB side so keep that in mind, just because you clear the BB side doesn't mean you'll make it out the other side.

That said there have been a couple times where the water level was to high and getting under was a no go.

Thank you all for your responses,,much appreciated and most helpful.

I'm taking from all of this that the Impact 1875 will fit under the bridge some of the time and sometimes not. I imagine during April and May with snow melt ,rain, etc,, it would be too close . From the video's it appears the arches are the main issue ,but under the main bridge it looks a couple inches higher.

Again thanks for all the responses. Any further advice will be welcomed.

Don't forget to trim up and stay in the middle there is only about 3.5 feet of water under the bridge!

I believe boats coming out of BB have the right of way.
