Smelt population

I’m gonna head out on the lake this weekend with a friend and do some trolling. How’s the smelt population this year? Any particular areas to look for bait?

I don’t fish much I’m the summer but this past winter every lake trout we caught was puking smelt. Belly’s always full!

Try the coves in Alton Bay, we’ve always had good luck there.
