Ode #2 to a Gilford Restaurant

It was my daughter’s 50th
And I wanted it to be splendiferous
But because of all the protests
Plus a virus at their doorsteps
All I got was “Sorry, too precipitous.”

No guests, no cake
Who knows how to bake?
No presents, no cards
Crafting’s too hard
Deliveries delayed (with their pricing unphased)
STUCK!

So, I called 911
(Which I shouldn’t have done)
And then I remembered
From late In November
Lyon’s Den

Gracious and sweet:
“What needs can we meet?”
Can you make it a surprise?
Your food brings tears to her eyes.
They did.
Splendiferous, Lauren, Thank you.
