I would never stop asking with the service writer. There was the Service Manager, and then the owner. Then on to Toyota and work your way up the corporate chain.

Again, if you're happy having bought 40+ extra quarts of oil, all the more power to you.

FWIW, my 2010 Corolla gets an oil change every 5000 miles, and occasionally I check the oil level and has never been more than about a fifth of the distance between full and add oil. And that would be with a cold engine. Bought it the weekend after Thanksgiving 2010 and just went over 180,000 miles.
