Dog Boarding
Looking for a good recommendation for boarding our small dog during travel. Preferably on the Moultonborough side of the lake. Thanks in advance!

We have used both Four Paws Inn on Parade Road in Meredith and Lakes Region Pet Resort on Route 3 North of Meredith for day care and boarding. While it is a close call, we prefer Four Paws.

You could try Rover.com if you’re looking for a more personal touch- I haven’t used them at lake, but at my other home, and it was terrific. No kennel, doggo just stayed in the house with the family. The pet sitter’s other job was working at the vet, and she had a few dogs of her own, so mine had pals. It was ideal.

For just a little more money you can get a pet sitter to come to your home twice a day while you're gone......advantage is, you get a homewatch for the same price.

I second Winni83's opinion, with a mirror image. We used both Lakes Region Pet Resort and Four Paws Inn for our dog; both were good but we had just a slight preference for the Lakes Region Pet Resort. I used to tell people that I had stayed in hotels that were not quite as nice. But we were comfortable with both places (and our children have remarked several times over the years that their mother put more time into checking out kennels than checking their schools, which may, in fact, be correct...)
Something to keep in the back of your mind -- the Pet Resort tended to get booked up early during holiday periods. Not sure if they still do this, but if you used Four Paws once, they would manage to find a spot for your dog in the future. No complaints about either kennel; nice people at both. |
