Does anybody know what this abandoned gate house was used for on Redding Lane, the road to Black Cat Island? Thank you.

There is no longer spring water access. It is on private property and the water use was abandoned due to issues with water quality that did not meet basic drinking water standards, some said because of housing development in adjacent properties. It has not been used for public access to spring water for over 30 + + years. The road carve out was originally placed there by the town for cars to park while they got water. The structure is slowly decaying from lack of any maintenance. The access doors were nailed shut but the building has been vandalized over the years once it was shut down for water.
