go skiing towed by a HORSE!
Today, Sunday February 20, 2022, starting at 12:30-pm the incredibly scenic 9-hole www.watervillevalleygolf.com is holding its first annual SKIJORE GALORE out on the golf course, out there between their winter snow tubing hill and their club house restaurant.
Sounds like FUN on a beautiful sunny day, today! Easy to WATCH and enjoy from the nearby town road with easy parking! Enjoy the excellent food at the club house and outdoor scenic patio on the pond with a wood burning, outdoor fire place ..... a very happening winter scenic sport! http://www.waterville.com/basiccalen...skijore-galore For $25 you hitch up you-self on skis to 'fast strong Woodchuck the horse' and give it a SKIJORE run over ther meticulously snow groomed fairways! So's ...... get on up here to the Waterville Valley Golf Course and COWBOY or COWGIRL UP and bring your best winter horse costume wardrobe along for the ride ....... helmet required!

I highly recommend. I participated (as a free-agent skier) in an equestrian joring event years ago. Web searching says the NorthEast Ski Joring Association seems to have unfortunately disbanded in the past years, though races are still occurring out west. Glad to see an event occurring locally again.
For the trivia nerds: equestrian ski joring was an event in the 1928 Winter Olympics. |
