You're out very early. Feel free to use my docks and walk home if you need a protected spot.

As of this morning, the ice is completely gone from Mirror Lake, so Winni is not far behind.
Oh, and the loons have returned !! |

Emerson just posted ice out at 5:20 pm today on their Facebook page. Missed by 3 days, I guessed 4/11.

Arghhhh. Missed it by about 4-1/2 hours. There seems to be about 10 people closer than me. I'll have to tweak my algorithm. An adjustment here or there means a guaranteed win next year.

Hey there ...... r u look'n for an icy pond on April 18?
Well, in Waterville Valley the 7-acre Corcoran's Pond made a little ice overnight with the 28-degree temps and changed from 100% open water to about 50% skim ice. Winter's ice-out happened in the last few days ..... but for right now the new ice is definitely here. Is a man-made, 1982, dug-out and dammed-up, town owned pond (for one dollar in 2012?) on Snow Brook with about 15' silty depth at the concrete dam that usually has water flowing over it, as designed. So, just imagine ...... you could-a maybe offered two dollars and now be owning your very own iced-up resort pond! ...... ![]() After that one dollar initial purchase, something like a million dollars was spent to dig out all the old silt and seriously redo the old dam. ..... ![]() ............ ... and, Corcoran Pond froze across 75%, last night Thurs April 21, once again from totally open water. So, how about that?
