A couple locals told the winner that the 7.68 pound salmon was the largest salmon weighed in at the derby in 28 years. That is a huge salmon for Winni. Heck, that's a huge salmon for Lake Champlain.

There was a 10+ pound Lake Trout that won that category of the derby a few years ago so the lake trout winner's fish this year is not nearly as impressive as the salmon winner's.

It's the Meredith Rotary Club's Ice Fishing Derby where all NH lakes are fair game. The Spring derby is Winni only.

Welcome to 2022. The winner of the grand prize boat didn't actually get the boat. The boat isn't even built yet. He's supposed to get it in September.
