I have a boat listed for sale but with the weather I am not getting a lot of interest. Maybe I should include in the description the fact that it has a windshield wiper to generate more responses?

Many folks in Wolfeboro Back Bay can’t get their boats out now due to the fact that they can’t get under the bridge due to high water levels…and it’s not getting any better.
Then again, it’s constantly raining so no one can go out, no matter where they are. ![]() |

Package it with the boat house and call me for an offer. I bet I can sell it (again) three times before Labor Day.

Getting out, under that Wolfeboro, Main St., low clearance Back Bay tunnel with a water vessel is so totally doable when you paddle a stand-up paddle board, and either kneel or lay down on the board.
Paddle boarding from Wolfeboro-Back Bay out to Wolfeboro Bay ...... www.facebook.com/FullMoonPaddleboard ...... rain or shine ..... high water or low water ..... creating group paddle board, paddle activity for many locals ..... so much group fun!

Figuring approx. 17 million gallons per one inch of water over one sq. mile; Including Paugus Bay, the Lake has increased by approx. 7,242,000,000 gallons, if you assume a 6" rise.
I think it'll rise another inch or two more as the run-off continues. On a rainy day like this, I didn't have anything better to do.

![]() ![]() I had a business idea where myself, and several other "big boys" would stand on the bridge on Main Street, Wolfeboro...and offer to get on board each boat so that it would go under the bridge easily. Then we'd get off said boat, and return to our perch. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm thinking $10 per chubby guy would be fair. |

I'm in the midst of putting in a new lawn, so I guess I am one of the few who enjoys having these daily showers.
It's already saved me a ton of time as I don't have to move the sprinkler all around the yard each day as long as these daily showers continue! By the way, best grass seed out there is LS-2 (Lawn Seed 2) and it's available at Cameron's on Rte. 11 in Farmington (and likely elsewhere also). Germinates in five days. |

This stretch of rain reminds me of when I was a kid in the 70s, we'd get these long stretches of rain that as a kid would drive me nuts. Glad to see the sun today.

Long range weather patterns are greatly influenced by the Pacific ocean temperatures and NOAA is predicting a possibly very strong El Nino for the rest of this year. Because the Pacific is so large (twice the size of the Atlantic) it has a major influence on both the trade wind on the equator and the northern and southern jet streams, and thus out long term weather. Right now the El Nino has created a pronounced northerly rise in the jet stream over most of North America with a large dip over the northeast. This peculiar jet stream curve is the reason for the extreme heat affecting the south and west, the Canadian Spring drought and forest fires, and the stalled low pressure area over the northeast that has been keeping us in a rainy pattern.

Be careful boating this weekend. We have a full pool and wakes are causing debris to float back into the lake.

A neighbor is having his dock rebuilt, so it was not surprising to pull a 6x8x24" beam from offshore today.

So I don't know if I missed it but do any of you remember in '98 the lake level was so high at this time of year it was closed to boat traffic over wake speed for about 6 weeks? If this keeps up we could face a repeat.

Forecast is for a better than 50% chance of rain almost every day through Thursday of NEXT week, 7/13. The forecast ends there, so it could continue beyond that.

Use trash barrels....fill with water using 5 gallon pail. When done, just dump the water over the side. Saves lots of time moving rocks. 30 gallon trash barrel full of water weighs up to 250 pounds each barrel.
