The other thing I would mention is make sure you know who you are talking to. There are a ton of brokers out there. Deal directly with the actual carrier if you want to control the process.

There are a lot of brokers who will put your car on the national load board. Car haulers use the board to gather cars in on area that are all going to, or on the way to, their destination. The key for them is to spend as little time as possible loading and unloading.
Most brokers are individuals who will ask for $100 or $150 up front and tell you to pay the remainder to the truck driver. That initial payment is the brokers commission. The problem with many brokers is they will give you a low price for the transport to get you to list with them. Once you give them your deposit you are stuck with them. When your car does not get picked up their story will be that prices have increased and you need to increase your offer or no one will grab your car. At some point the amount will be enough to attract a trucker but you didn't get the low price you were initially offered. I have shipped many cars from New Hampshire to Florida and the reverse. I tell the brokers I will make a deposit as soon as the truck driver calls and confirms the price and date of the pickup. That way you are not stuck with someone who will scam you. |

Bought an allroad on the internet (Autolist) located in Cali. I arrange with local Audi dealer to have it transported here. (Statham Audi). The car came on Audi auto transports. It took a month but it arrived without any problems.
Try talking to the local Porsche dealer. (Nashua).

I've used Horseless Carriage on 3 occasions to transport classic cars from the West Coast to NH. Not the cheapest, but the quality of the service is excellent.

Going to the Wolfeboro car show was successful-
a well known car collector gave me the name & phone of his transport co, and he's having a vehicle picked up from the Pebble Beach show, with my son's car on the same trip to Wolfeboro- Thank you so much again for everyone's input- I have gotten more help from people on the forum than I can count, from directions when we were vacationing here years ago, to switching to propane from oil, to buying a whole house generator to a host of smaller issues but no less important topics- Thank you all! P.S.- If you see a black Cayman S going too fast on 109 or 109A from September on, let me know~ Last edited by marinewife; 08-11-2023 at 08:02 PM. Reason: spelling |

That is a great outcome! Your collector will undoubtedly have a top notch transport service, so that should remove some of your son’s anxiety.
