Question Winnipesaukee "Basin"...

How close is the lawn to the lake?
The Winnipesaukee Basin extends far from the Big Lake--and surface flow eventually carries chemicals and their derivatives downhill to multiple lakes.

The larvae are something else's food: Usually birds (like Chickadees) eat the larvae (and adults) of butterflies and moths.

Speaking as one who has a "lawn" of ferns, Pink Lady Slipper, Jack-in-the-Box, Canadian Yew, Jewelweed, Blueberries and Queen Pine, is this really a problem?

If they were being eaten.
He would hardly notice the few that exist... as they exist everywhere.

The directions are pretty stringent on how and where to use.

Changing ground cover would be an excellent idea, but that has to be his decision.
