The Swallow Boathouse
For those that haven't seen this, I consider it one of the most beautiful and unique featuers of Lake Winnipesaukee
Here's one of my first videos, created from my SeaDoo https://youtu.be/ej3pAToKGkc?si=1qt23KAW1dFelfWi Feedback invited, feel free to follow or like that YouTube channel, I'll try to post more if I find worthy subjects.

Thanks for sharing! We were out there the other day—such a beautiful structure.

It is a beautiful building! Has it been converted to a residence? Looks like deck chairs and plants where the boat entrance used to be.

I bought my current boat from Peter Hare who I believe owns the Swallow, or maybe it's his family. Not sure. He gave us a tour inside with a bit of history as well. Very fascinating.

I wish I could get the plans for the Swallow Boathouse. I want to build one. That would look great out in front of my house and the family would love it!

A little history
It's also on the National Register of Historic places.
I think there's an old Winni thread with more discussion. https://www.nhhomemagazine.com/the-s...g-masterpiece/

It’s owned and maintained by the Windward Harbor Association. That’s the cove we are on and it never gets old checking it out. It’s really beautiful.

Oh, that's right. I think Peter was the area developer, right?

Always loved that place, it's beautiful.
There's a similar structure called the Boldt Yacht House in Alexandria Bay, NY/1000 Islands (an easy and pretty 7ish hour drive from Winni) that's still in use as a boat house and contains an impressive boat collection that's open to the public. It's a great way to see how the Swallow Boat house used to be used. 1000 Islands is a place any Winnipesaukee fan would love too. Last edited by Dave R; 08-29-2023 at 07:40 AM. |

Anyone care to suggest the simplest/safest route from the Weirs?
I spend most on my boating time on the southern half of the lake and havent been up that way in years. Thanks |
