I have read some things that seem to say that the people that own Dox on Winnisquam have taken over Anthony's on the peir and are making it a sit down restaurant? Is this true

According to the owner at DOX who I spoke with last week...Yes it is true.

I always loved it there but it was very poorly run and the food wasn't very good. I think a sit down restaurant with servers is the way to go there. I wish them luck!

I agree. The food was horrible and the whole indoor/outdoor space was terribly dated and inefficient. Hopefully it can get classed up because the view is unparalleled for that area.

My wife and I tried Dox yesterday for early dinner (4:30 ish)
We both found it to be great and will go again! We sat outside on the deck which was pretty much empty but it filled up fast toward 5:30-6pm. 😊

Went last Friday at like 2:00, was told its a 20 - 30 minute wait. more than half the tables were empty! Took the boat back to the marina, drove down to Sawyers and got my food faster than that! Wont be back any time too soon.

Hey Mr X--

How is Sawyers this year? We've always gone there once a summer for a grease fix, (fried clams, etc), but when we were there last summer, it was mediocre at best. All the fried stuff, (clams, shrimp, fries), were not that hot and not that crispy....almost as if they had been sitting out for a while. Any better this year?

Only been to Sawyers once this year and got a burger and onion rings and coffee frappe, it was actually really good!

Last year they were inconsistent, one trip there was only ok and the other was good.

We were happy this time.

But the best meal at the lake so far this year, a simple roast beef sandwich at Jons, might have been the best ever! They NEVER disappoint.

Still crushed by the loss of Crazy Gringos, but what can we do,,,

Over due for a trip to Hart's.

And really need a prime rib dinner, so if you have a recommendation I am grateful. Thanks ;-)
