If I am following this correctly, I see that older cars are inspected less?

Should not older cars be inspected more?

My daily driver is a 1992 Lexus SC400 that I bought new. In California, they are only concerned about smog and inspected every two years. You can have a car with broken lights, no brakes and poor tires...It'll pass unless it blows smoke.
