That's a wonderful photo of the vivid fall colors, Riverat. Your neighbor George is quite a photographer!

Default Surprising

We southern N.Englanders were warned that it was not going to be that spectacular this fall. Guess your picture RR tells a whole different story. Thanks for the post.

He sent it to WMUR and they have shown it several times. Funny how the colors around the Bay are changing more slowly then the surronding area, atleast to me it seems so.

We had a slowish start up here, but the last week or so the colors have really blossomed. Not that I'd have to twist anyone's arms, but based on the weather forecast and what I can see out the window if you can come up this weekend you won't be disappointed!

Default More color....

Mrs. HC and I left the lake last Sunday and there were only random splashes of bright color....mostly green where ever you looked as we circum..drove..around the big lake. We will be back NEXT Saturday and hope we're greated by florescent colors in 'them there' hills....the "color predictor" web sites predict the week of the 16th to the 23rd to be Peak Week around our big lake. Hope they are correct.

We were at Merrymeeting last weekend for our annual last hurrah with the neighbors. We all seemed to agree that the colors this year seem to be muted compared to other years.

Still beautiful, but not as much as other years.

Default I agree with Merrymeeting...

We were up last weeked too, and yes - while still beautiful, a little muted this year. Not as many "reds". It also seemed as though a lot of leaves have fallen off the trees already, lots of "half-naked" trees around.
Still beautiful, especially since it's still very green here at home!

Default Past peak

I think a week, or even 2, ago there were more reds and the yellows and oranges were more vibrant. Today there colors are more subdued and brownish. There have been a lot of changes in just the last 2-3 days. Overall I thought it was a pretty good year for bright colors. I'm still kicking myself for not getting a shot of the Merrymeeting marsh 3 weeks ago when it was incredibly red !

Default Morning Fog

The air temperature this morning was about 30 degrees and the fog was rising off the relatively "warm" water. This shot was taken at 7:45 AM.
