Spotted these guys off the shore of Samoset/Gunstock Acres on Saturday. Are they a flock of tufted ducks?

I think they are probably mergansers. The black & white ones are males and the brownish ones with reddish heads are females.

We always see lots of males in the spring and then in the summer they disappear leaving the femaies with babies.
