FYI, anyone looking for ethanol free gas, Minge Cove announced that they will soon sell ethanol free gas at their pump. I'm not sure when they will switch, but it's supposed to be this season. Perhaps when their current fuel is gone?

Haffner's in Moultonborough. Not sure if that is too far for you (26 minutes from Gilford)?

People continue to get caught up with ethanol free gas... and while I do admit there are some times when it is useful, I began treating my gas with Star-tron, or stabil, when they first introduced ethanol into gas, and have yet to have an issue.
unless you can guarantee you are going to keep your fuel system ethonal free, at this point and time with the treatment options available it seems like a exercise in futility.... I will admit that for small things like chainsaw, lawn mower etc. trying to stay ethanol free maybe worth while, but boats and cars when you using them all the time....

Yes, they do! But it's on the other side of the lake.
It's nice to have options!

Ethanol generally has a shorter shelf/storage life without the additives than ethanol free does. Ethanol will also dissolve the varnish created by the oxidation of regular gasoline (some brands have put a lot of additives in to diminish the varnish build up even without the ethanol). So if you switch back and forth, you can build varnish... partially dissolve it releasing it into the smaller apertures of your fuel delivery system and cause clogging. |
