Default Would you be in favor of the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum receiving a large donation?

The new boat museum is a tremendous modern venue. Maybe the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum can make the leap as well.

Not sure what you're asking, but is the museum open? Last I saw, there was still a "docking soon" sign out front. It seems like it's taking a long time to open?

Default Depends

On who the donor is. Why?

I think I'd rather see the money go into protecting the lake from cyanobacteria

Sounds like you're talking about the Boat Museum, not the Winnipesaukee Museum. Clarify?

I was asking about the boat museum since the OP mentioned it's great, but I've not seen anything but a "docking soon" sign, which I assumed meant not yet open.

*Scratch that, it looks like it opened July 5th!

Opened, we stopped by the new one on the 7th and they are still "building it" but they had some nice boats there. It looks like it will be a great place once finished with everything. At that time they were only asking for donations, not an true entrance fee because they only had a few things.

Both museums are open.

The post is based on a premise that the Lake Winnipesaukee museum is worthy of being the same quality as the boat museum.

We went to the boat museum today and they have a really nice display of wooden boats, outboards and other boating memorabilia. I think the old 5hp green Johnson outboard on display resonated with me most as it reminded me of all the time I spent zooming around Waukewan as a kid. The museum is open this weekend and next before they close for the season. There is a bay in process and it appears to be mockup of a boat dock. That may explain the "docking soon".
