I am looking for private communities around the lake similar to Soth Down Shore and Long Bay in Laconia. I went through Cedar Cove in Alton this weekend and it was beautiful. Can anyone make a recommendation?

It's more expensive than Southdown but it's nice. There's a new one up the street from the Weirs (on the right if you're heading towards Funspot). I looked at a house and it was one of the nicest houses I've ever been in. The 1.6 million dollar price tag, neighbors literally 15 feet away, and not being on the water just didn't do it for me. Oh ya, 1.6 million is a little out of my range too.

Thanks for the information. Grouse Point is a very nice community but South Down and Long Bay are the nicest and most inviting I have seen. Aqua Solei will be a very nice place also when it gets completed. |

South Down has a good selection of places for sale, and some of those views...

Nothing on the lake compares with the Bald Peak Club, single entrance guarded community, one of the best golf courses in NH, very low turnover of residents, some homes are 3rd and 4th generation. Unfortuately you cant stop by for a look, you must be escorted or invited. Occasionaly something comes up for sale, and a realtor is one way in.

Hi Bobio Have you looked at Lands End in Moultonborough? It is 20 units on 50 acres with boat docks and beach. Very nice and privite, quite side of the lake. I will be selling in the very near future |
