Aroma Joe's would be nice. I'm hard of hearing. I appreciate a smiling face that I can lip read to take orders. A huge plus at Aroma Joe's. I avoid Dunkin' and Starbucks kiosk. Can't understand what they are saying. Love to see a smiling face in the morning.

I went to Ziggy's once, that was enough for me, and I was looking forward to it opening!

While I have no knowledge of the owner I feel for him/her.

They likely took a large part of their savings and sunk it into the venture with the hope of success at a level that would bring future expansion with more units.

It's a tough row to hoe and now that money is gone.

Again... I do not know the people behind Ziggy's...

I believe many start ups (even opening a franchise location is a start up) that fail could easily be predicted as non viable if one were to consider a bottom up approach to the financial projection.

How much money do you need to make to pay yourself, the note and taxes?
What are the fixed costs of running the operation?
What are the variable costs of running the operation?

Do the math to get the minimum sales required.

Then ask yourself:

Can I really get that much sales volume with the location, competitive set, name recognition and good will this brand will bring?

Unless you are really sure, just don't do it!

Arrow ....... opportunity knocks!

Now that it's all built with a drive-thru food service, could be it gets re-invented into a 'Jose's Roast Beef' or a 'Mahmoud's Falafel' or something where the food is good to eat.

All it needs is a bag of McCain's hash browns ........ Gorton's garlic & herb fish fillets ...... a microwave ...... paper plates ...... and it is a famous fish & chips venue ..... right here in Meredith ........ so totally awesome ...... !

Well, prepackaged food, and bad coffee do not sound like a recipe for success. I think a lot of people were excited that this place opened up and then very disappointed when they tried it for themselves.

Its really not a great spot. More people turn left at the lights at 25 and 104 coming from CH and if heading from Ashland on 104 you need to cross traffic to go to this store. However, if it were another DD it would survive!

That's one of the reasons I was excited about it. Going through that traffic in the summer to get to DD's just didn't seem worth the trip, but it failed the taste test for me.

Default Welcome to town, Aroma Joe's

....well, it's official. Ziggy's is all painted in the Aroma Joe's white and blue exterior. Sign outside says, "Aroma Joe's...Coming Soon"

Looking forward to giving it a try!

Somebody lost a lot of money doing all the work to get that Z's open.

'Twas a dream that became a nightmare for someone.

AJ's will make it work.

Name recognition and reputation bring a lot to the table.
