Oh how I hated working on those when I was younger, but I had a buddy of mine that had a shop in Cambridge and that's all he worked on. He made a ton of money just working on bugs. He could change a motor in an hour.

There are still mechanics that specialize in these bugs. In San Francisco, they're a very practical get-around car...Just not one like this. One parking ding could ruin your day.

My girlfriend had a'67 convertible about 15 yrs. ago. Lots of fun. Leaked lots of oil. I've often wondered where it is today. It could be at the next car show at The Tilton Diner, or in Mexico.

Back in high school I had a good friend of mine that got in a head on collision in one. He was never the same, messed up in the head from brain trauma.
