Default Boat Fuel Prices

Does anyone know why marina fuel is still at $5 (Melvin Village/Ambrose Cove)?

I know they tend to be a bit higher than other places, but with regular at pretty low prices right now, I assumed we might see a drop in marina fuel prices.

Thoughts?

Purchased at last season’s rates and will remain high until sold out?

I just paid $4.19 for untreated ethanol free 91 octane in Moultonborough this weekend. $5.00 on the lake doesn't sound unreasonable.

That's both ethanol free AND 91 octane.

The only marina selling ethanol free (at least last year) was Pier 19 and that was almost $6.

Everywhere else, including MVM and AC, has ethanol and is 89 octane.

Default trexlers

Trexler's has always been very high. Great spot and people have been willing to pay more for the convenience. Free market!

Does anyone deliver fuel directly to boats by truck? We can get that service here on the NH seacoast. I paid $2.98 a gallon last week for marine (off-road so dyed red) diesel delivered directly to my boat. Maybe a decent business opportunity???

There's a mismatch here, just like people don't buy EV's because there aren't enough charging stations. MVYC brings a truck in when there are enough members interested. By appointment only, weekday, 100 gallon minimum. If you're not there, they will move your boat to the gas dock, fill it and return to your slip, regular hourly rate. That's a great service instead of waiting in line on a weekend. I think Y-Landing is the only diesel pump available, so there might be room for competition.

Don't forget, you can visit WinniGas.com to see all the current gas prices on the lake! Prices there right now are a bit stale (mostly last year's prices) but I expect them to be updated as people start boating.

Also, when you see a gas price at a gas dock, please use WinniGas.com to report the price, even if you are not buying fuel at the time. It helps everyone!

Fuel dock owner/operators, please update your price weekly on WinniGas.com even if the price hasn't changed. This sends a message to WinniGas followers and gives you a bit of free exposure!

Yes, as far as known, Y-Landing is the only source of diesel on the lake.

As so Mountain View delivering diesel via truck, I understand they will only do this for boats that are docked at MVYC. If you keep your boat somewhere else, they will often decline to sell you diesel fuel, even if you try to schedule it with them.
