Hi all, hope everyone has had a fantastic summer!
I tried searching, but didn't find much. I was wondering if anyone here was familiar with the Leeward Shores association and Hermit Cove Association? There is a property in each for sale, both appear to be a decent ways away from the water, but Leeward has beach access and a mooring with a waiting list for a dock and Hermit Cove says beach access and a short wait list for dock, no mooring realistically these are one of the more viable ways for my family to get on the lake since even island homes have gone through the roof in cost. Anyone here members of the associations or familiar with the area that could share the good and the bad about them? Thanks! Anthony |

I've never been to the property, but I know he recently had a new septic installed. I do remember him sharing some complaints about association members, but you can have those in every association. |

I don't know what you mean by "a decent ways from the water," but I know when my wife and I were looking for lake properties, we decided that any distance not easily walkable with beach stuff was not really "lake property."
I'm not sure what that distance is/would be, and it would be increased if golf carts were involved, but a LOT of the "lake" properties we looked at would've required a car drive of at least a few minutes. Just a thought (mostly inspired by friends who have owned second homes much longer than I have). Sent from my SM-S931U using Tapatalk |

The house in Leeward Shores is at the top of a steep hill but as long as you can use a golf cart, I would say this is a good deal. It has a peek-a-boo view of the Ossipee Mountain range. I've met a handful of the homeowners at the Long Island beach, and they all seem very nice. Plus...the price has just been reduced.

The price being reduced is what caught my eye. It is on 1.6 acres, I wouldn't mind having some privacy back at the cottage while being able to enjoy the lake and beach during the day. When I looked up the map of it though, it did seem like it was a good hike from the water, although I couldn't figure out exactly where the mooring field was too....
I emailed the realtor yesterday, still waiting on a response back. Biggd, any idea why they are looking to sell now? |
