Default Annual Steamboat Meet 2025

Today is the start of the annual steamboat meet in Lee's Mills!

Parades are on the first Sunday at 2:00 and the last Sunday at 10:00. The cove just outside Lee's Mills is a great place to anchor out and watch.

More info at the link below, and if you happen to float to the end of Hanson Cove and see a rotund midaged suburban father of two sitting on a chair on the lawn reading, wave!

Sorry that this is the first time we've missed it in the last 12 years or so. Always a good time.

I went there this morning just got back home a lot of boats being launched as well as going in and out of the cove. I just sat on a rock and took it all in on this beautiful morning. Thanks for the heads up Think! I should have taken some pictures but getting them from my flip phone to my laptop is above my pay grade.

For anyone who hasn't seen them, here's a series of videos I made in 2010:

The good news is most of those steamboats don't draft all that much water, so I don't think this years low lake level will be a big deal.... unless it starts to affect the usability of the ramp at Lees Mills..... Never having used it I am not sure what it is really like....

It is always a good time, to go to the meet and look around..... I have always enjoyed a few years, going up and watching the parade by boat....
