Default APBA boat show in Wolfeboro

Today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday), at the Town Docks in Wolfeboro, is the every-two-years boat show of vintage race boats. These boats are actually going out and circling Wolfeboro Bay at high speeds showing off their capabilities. This is a wonderful show organized by the New Hampshire Boat Museum and many, many volunteers to keep it safe. "Home base" is the Wolfeboro Town Docks, and different types of boats are grouped together ate the finger piers. The hydros are launched and landed by crane - a show in itself worth seeing. The action starts at 8 AM and runs till past 3 PM both days. Access by water is controlled for safety purposes, so come by car.
Enjoy!

Default Vintage Boat Races

Worked as a volunteer driving one of the safety boats during the races. Our vantage point was right in the middle of the race course oval. Outstanding to watch and listen from there. The race boat drivers couldn't have been any happier due to the water conditions in Wolfeboro Bay being so calm.

I volunteered for all three days. It was a great opportunity to donate my time to NHBM. Working with a great bunch of people. The drivers and crew were also great and thanked us for all we did!

The weather was fantastic! Beautiful sunrise every morning as I travel up Rte. 11 from Laconia to Wolfeboro.

Lots of smiling faces this weekend!

Wait...isn't there a lake-wide speed limit?

Went over to Wolfeboro after stopping in Moultonborough first. Was able to catch a ride on the side wheel steam boat, my 8 yo was thrilled.
Went to Wolfeboro and was lucky enough to get a outside deck table at the Town Grill (?, I think that was the name of it) just in time to watch the last 4 heats. This was the 1st time I have ever been on the land for the races, typically am on the boat anchored out along the track taking pictures.
What a great day on Saturday with both boats. Always my favorite time of year on the lake with those 2 events going on.
