1.Does anyone know of a good place for a wedding rehearsal dinner. We originally had the Common Man in Ashland reserved but are having second thoughts now because of the distance from Meredith (where everyone is staying)?
We're looking for someplace really casual, can hold up to twenty people, and is fairly inexpensive. Something in close proximity to Meredith is very important (for health reasons relating to a wedding guest). 2.Does anyone know of a good place for the "younger" crowd to continue the festivities after the wedding has ended? We're getting married at Church Landing and the wedding ends at eleven (which they're very strict about). It being a Friday night, a lot of the people will want to continue the party. How late does Guisseppe's stay open? Or can anyone else think of a place? Obviously we're looking for a place in or around Meredith so the people who've had a few drinks don't have to drive or if designated drivers DO have to, they won't go insane carting around, shall we say, a bunch of "very happy" people. Thanks in advance for your responses. Jk

they can accomodate 20 people easily.
Then, after the wedding, maybe those who want to continue to party can check out the Margate, or.........(too bad The Depot has departed....) I am sure others can be of more help, it's just I feel bad that nobody has responded in 24 hours. I don't live there anymore, so I can't make any REALLY good suggestions.... Good luck. ![]() |

First, a question to you: When is the wedding scheduled ?
I ask this because some establishments may be more flexible during slow times of the year. Meredith (and the immediate surrounds) certainly has places to meet your needs. I think I would talk with Church Landing about your situation and see if they could be a player. Going north around the Lake there are several restaurants, but, they are all a bit of a drive. Good Luck to you, and, Happy New Year. !! |

1, Harts Turkey farm is casual, cheap, and can likely accomidate you in one of their seperate rooms so you could have some privacy as well. It's about 1/3 mile up the hill from Church Landing.
-or- Camp is a little cozier, its basically across the street from Church Landin, its a "Common Man Family" establishment. Its resonably priced and casual. Cam is located in the Chase House Inn in Meredith. Camp Serves "Comfort Food" -or- Lago (also a Comon Man Place), Similar to Camp, its also very close to Church Landing in the Inn at Bay Point. Lago is "Italian-ish" food. 2, Guissippes is the best bet for your "younger crowd" they can walk back to the inn, and I believe they are open and serving drinks until 1:00am. Meredith has few places that serve alcohol late. Hope that helps. |

By the way, for those of you who asked, the wedding is August 10th.
The Broken Antler is a possibility, as is Camp's and Lago. I love the sitting area outside at Lago, so I may be leaning towards that. The only thing keeping me away from there is that many wedding guests will be staying at one of the four Mills Falls Hotels and I'd like to have the opportunity to show them a new place. I love the Common Man in Ashland (it has one of the coolest bars I've been to) but I'm worried about the drive for some of the older guests. I know it's only about a half hour so that may work. Keep the suggestions coming. Thanks again. Jk

Do "IT" on the Mount.
If you want to have a inexpensive ceremony I'm sure they will let your DO IT on the bow! for the price of a ticket your can also get a free buffet if you play your cards right. We had are ceremony on the mount and had a unbelievable good time! Just a bit of advice, this is a once in a life time conmentment do it rite! |

Abondate is on Main Street in Meredith. Its small, owner operated, and excellent. Again, depending on the size of your group they may be able to accomidate you in a private room.
Personally if I were to choose a place in Meredith to bring my family (and soon to be family) to, it would be there. ![]() |

Abondante has my vote, too! Might not be as inexpensive as you would like...
Also, can't you just move up to the lounge at Church Landing after the wedding? It's huge! Then people won't have to go anywhere. |
