Default Breakfast by Boat

The Owl's Nest in West Alton is a great place to check out for breakfast or lunch, even by boat. Right now, they're only open on the weekends, but starting bike week they're open every day. You can dock at their beach in the middle of Ames cove. Its a small sign you have to look for, but its there. You walk up the hill to where the cottages and store is. There is a great little store so you can get your morning newspaper or evening six pack! They renovated last summer, so it looks so cute! They just got a deli going this summer, so if you wanted to get some pasta salad or some turkey, its all available. I live down the street and they really have done a great thing with the place since the new owner came in last summer. Food I recommend: eggs Benedict, French toast with homemade bread, omelets are HUGE, pancakes were the size of my head and you get two of them, steak and cheese is AMAZING, burgers are a good size, and they carry buffalo burgers, which are very tasty and I highly recommend to try it if you haven't before. The cottages were completely renovated and look amazing inside! its a must try, the Owl's Nest!!!
