Default The Manor on Squam

The wife and I are considering going to The Manor on Squam for dinner tonight. Anyone been there that can comment on the food?? I've been coming up to the Lakes Region since the late 60's and have never been to The Manor nor do I know anyone that has been so I need your help.

I would recommend it for a special occasion. My wife and I went there for our anniversary a few years back. They made a point of asking if we were celebrating anything when we called for the reservation. I told them the occasion and they asked our names. When we arrived we were handed our own personalized (our first names and Happy Anniversary) menus. We ordered the complete umpteen course meal that was offered as their special for the evening. I honestly don't remember the quality of the food but I do remember the great experience. It's not something I would do more than once a year or so but it is pretty cool for a special occasion.

Thumbs up HUGE Thumbs up

My sister had her rehearsal dinner there some years ago before her wedding. We absolutely had the most unbelievable experience there. That was a while ago but even if it is half as good as it was then I would STILL recommend it today.

Please let us know if you went and how it was.

Default Thumbs up

I took my wife to the Manor last year for her 30th Bday and it was wonderful. I told them it was her Bday and they personalized the menu with her name and Happy Birthday to take home. Food was first class and will go back for a special occasion.

Default Pricey

We went a few years ago and the place is very attractive. The food and service were very good. That said, it was the most expensive place around the lake that we have eaten, by far. I have no problem at all with expensive restaurants but there is always a question of value received. I just don't see the Manor as better than many other fine restaurants that have been discussed on this forum. I'm glad we tried it out. We have not been back. Maybe someday for a really special occasion or if we win the lottery.

It is more expensive than most area restaurants but it is a completely different level of service and atmosphere as well. Again, worth a try for a special occasion.
