Thumbs up Winnipesaukee Chocolates

Has anyone else tried a Winnipesaukee Chocolate bar yet?
I finally bought one a while back at the Wolfeboro IGA and was pleasantly surprised.
I am not usually big on chocolate, but this is something very special.
Something to be savored.

In total they have six flavors to choose from:

Rattlesnake Island – Dark Chocolate with Cayenne

I bet you knew that I'd choose the Rattlesnake Island bar!
The chocolate was perfectly smooth and luxurious.
Surprisingly you don’t taste any Cayenne until the very end.
I would describe it as a pleasant rush that is not at all too hot.
Simply delicious.

The Broads – Milk Chocolate with Toasted Almonds

Madame Chiang – Dark Chocolate with Crystallized Ginger

Whortleberry Island – White Chocolate with Dried Blueberries

The Weirs – Milk Chocolate with Cranberries and Coconut

Little Bear Island – Dark Chocolate with Crushed Coffee Beans

Next time I will have to try Little Bear Island.
(Can you tell I like my chocolate dark? )

There is still be time to order or pick some up as Christmas gifts!

The chocolates can be ordered online from Winnipesaukee Chocolates

I haven't but they sound delicious. I love the wrappings too. Are they only available around the lake?

I had the pleasure of receiving a "Rattlesnake Island" bar last Christmas. It was wonderful. I also received a "Winnipesaukee Winter" candle from Melvin Village Candles as well. "Winni" themed gifts are great!!

The wrappings and descriptions were so intriquing that I did a little digging on the bars. I had never heard of the bars until Rattlesnake Gal put it on the site. So here is the Winnepesaukee Chocolate website:

So yummy we can buy through the web if you can't make it to Wolfboro.

I can't believe that I have missed this company......I'll have to check it out. I always try & support local small business unless the price difference in product is so great that it makes no sense.

Default mmmmmmmmmm....

I did it...I couldn't resist.

Stopped in at the Weirs Beach General store on my way to my company (BYOB) Employee Appreciation party (can't call it a Christmas party for fear of offending someone - so politically correct!) to pick up a bottle of wine and I just had to grab one of those chocolate bars on the way to the cash register.

I asked if the rumor that they were closing were true. Sadly, it is. The store will close Thursday 'til April. I apologised that I hadn't bought enough wine and chocolate to keep them open through the winter. Darn! Oh well, the chocolate temptation will be gone for a while. That may help keep the Winter Waist Expansion project under control.

Darn it, we didn't hear that rumor! Thats too bad, I've been encouraging them to hold out long enough for the snowmobilers to start coming through and to stock ice fishing stuff, which should have been enough to keep them open. Guess with the new Cumbies and all its just too slow for them to wait.
