Lake Chart from early 70's?

I was looking to find a lake chart from the early 70's, one of the yellow ones printed back then, maybe 70 - 73 or 74? and suitable for framing. Long story behind why, but I am looking to give it as a gift. Any one have any ideas or thoughts as to where something like this might be found?

Additionally, if someone has one stashed away and would like to part with it, I will be happy to buy it or make a donation to your favorite "charity" or whatnot.

Another place to check out (if you are in the Laconia area) is a place called Country Tyme Antiques & Collectibles on Route 3 in Laconia. The number is: 524-2686.They are between the Belknap Mall and Winnisquam. If you're heading toward Tilton, they are on the left hand side in the same plaza a Barons Major Brands and just before Piches. I have purchased numerous types of memorabilia from here about the lake area. I purchased a map of the Alton area which dated back to 1943 - the cost was $35 (it was a 11 x 14 ish size map). Cool place for all sorts of lake memorabilia; post cards, maps, old place mats from the old restaurants that used to be on the lake, various photos, and lots of other stuff too.

For this kind of stuff - when you enter the store go to your right (on the first floor, on the other side of the stairs that lead to the basement) all the way in the back far right corner - this booth has lots of this type of stuff. Also, on the first floor, straight back from the cash register to the booth at the back of the building (it's the same dealer, he just has a second booth - if you can't find this one, just ask the people behind the counter they will tell you where the 2nd booth is for this dealer).

I consider myself fortunate to have a large map of the lake from 1946 in perfect condition ( 18" x 30" ). My wife found it at a yard sale about 7 or 8 years ago and had it framed in a real nice oak finish and gave it to me as a birthday present. This map is a real conversation piece = it shows the entire lake, limited markers ( that must have been a challenge )and surrounding land areas. It also shows roads and there are very few of them compared to now.

No it's not for sale. I intend to pass it on to the kids - it's not worth a fortune but it's still a treasure.

You might try the book store in Wolfeboro ( don't know the name ).

Wow, some great suggestions! It actually has to be a 70 - 74 Yellow lake winni nav chart. I know, it sounds odd but there is meaning behind it. I bet the one from 46 is very cool, that's a rare find! I'll check out the place in the Major Brands plaza and see what they have. It may take a bit but I hopefully will stumble across one at some point.

You can also call the Historical Society in Concord. I don't have the number handy but I'm sure it's easy to find. There's an individual there that does reprints of all sorts of old documents for areas across the state. That's where I located an old chart of Winni as a gift for a friend. The numbers of old charts and documents is pretty immpressive.

Did you already try the Duncan Press?

They made their first lake map sometime in the 60's, so they probably published the one you are looking for.
