I'm looking for indoor winter boat storage for a 22' boat, preferably on the north side of the lake. Any recommendations?

Looking for recommendations for boat storage. I stopped into a place off the Lake in Gilford called Dave's Motorboat Shoppe. Dave appeared real nice and knowledgeable. The only problem is he's not located right on the water. He has a a la carte pricing. He quoted 24'. $99.00 outboard winterazation. $159 Stern drive winterazation. $4.00 bottom cleaning. $10.00 for just shrink wrapping. All these a la carte prices can start to add up. Channel Marine is $29 per ft and that includes winterazation, cleaning and launching in the spring. Is Channel Marine my best bet??

While it always pays to do a little shopping around, for what it's worth Dave is a !st choice outboard mechanic for Evinrude & Yamaha & Mercury and charges $70./hour. If you own an Evinrude w/ a vro like me, then you probably have lots of experience with getting it serviced.

Isn't Old Hubbard Road near Shep Brown's? It'y my family's first year winterizing, and we've heard from all the neighbors that either Shep Brown's is a good bet or Melvin Village. As long as you can bring the boat on a trailer, there won't be a gigantic fee for taking it out. I believe shrinkwrapping for Shep's is between 8-10 dollars per foot. I also know that every two years you're supposed to have the outdrive thoroughly checked or something.
I'm still learning, but I hope I've Helped ![]()

melvinbayboater asked this last month and still no answers. I'm also looking for a new winter storage place. Anybody have experience good or bad to relate. Anybody have opinions on inside vs outside or shrinkwrapped vs racked?
I need to store my 26' bowrider and I don't own a trailer. I've always used Irwin and they're very convienent but a little above average on price. But this spring we had a little disagreement on delivery dates, so I'm looking around. |

I heard Daves Motor Boat Shoppe in Gilford is good & reasonable. I prefer outside with shrinkwrap to inside. You never have to worry about a bad roof caving in from heavy snow & if its shrinkwrapped properly it can withstand heavy snow outside, I have not had a problem outside yet. Also easier to get at outside in the spring to clean it up, open it up etc. Some of the inside facilities pack them in so close its hard to work around them. Also maybe a problem launching in the spring if you are behind other boats that are not moving right away. Just my thoughts on outside vs inside. And also it usually is cheaper outside compared to inside.

You could be picked up at Roberts cove by Hillcrest Marine and have your boat winterized, shrinkwrapped, stored, and dewinterized for $20.00 per foot.
Had a great experience with them. |

I've reserved with Dave's Motorboat Shoppe, based on some recommendations and a visit. He will pick me up at the Gilford town docks. His prices seem comparable to Hillcrest, maybe a tad higher. The boat will be shrink wrapped and stored in a covered boat rack building. I'm also have the bottom presure washed but that's a little extra.

NH Motor Speedway has inside storage available. Only for small boats as the door heights are low.
