Default Kevin's was busy!

I was delighted to see Kevin's parking lot "packed" last Friday night for his Friday night Fried Clam special! Although I did not order the fried clams, I would say that 99% of those dining were enjoying one, two, and perhaps even three platters of fried clams. I was eager to "sample" one fried clam to savor the taste of what everyone else was enjoying, and asked our waitress if she could "sneak" me one. She brought a small (but generous) plate of fried clams to our table, and they were absolutely delicious - and this from someone who does not particularly like fried foods! Light, delicate batter....and not greasy! That said, I had the scallops for my entree, and they were as delicious as always. Three cheers to Kevin's Cafe for providing us with outstanding cuisine! I hope that more folks will discover it.

i was a little reluctant to post this as I have been a big supporter of kevin's over the years and especially on Monday night but my wife and i went again this past monday night( about the fifth time this summer) as usual the food was great and the prices can't be beat but it was very crowded and maybe as a result the service was below average. so the great news is there were a lot of people there and food was great but service was not good

Default A Similar Experience

My wife and I had lunch at Kevin's back several weeks ago. The lunch was very pleasant and we had no complaints. We did notice that when both rooms had customers the one server seemed a little overwhelmed. The layout is not the best, but the food was very good and we will visit again.

You go to Kevin's for the food which is excellent and the value. The place itself is plain (although fixed up some this year) and the servers try hard which counts a lot. As most things are cooked to order it can be slow if busy, but it is still great if you know what to expect.

Hi Phoenix, I've never been to Kevin's but it sounds great. My only thought about your comment on the below-average service is that perhaps because is was Monday of Labor Day Weekend their expectation was that it would be slow with all of the vacationers going home and locals going back to work Tuesday, so they planned for that and inadvertantly were understaffed? Just a guess!

Just a reminder that school started early this year in NH as well as surrounding states leaving many area business very short handed. Thanks to all of the various school boards who don't give a single bit of consideration to the business' that employ kids for the summer. At least we know they will remember us when it comes time to solicit donations.
