Along with gasoline, diesel & heating oil going up big time, there's increases in telephone, electricity, and fire wood by the cord. Even McDonald's is talking about raising the price of their dollar menu, double cheeseburger from !.00 to 1.19. Foster's newspaper just went from .50 to .75.
Is there an increase in the number of 'homes for sale' signs, here & about, or is that just my imagination? Everything is going up except the selling price of homes. Will property taxes go down when home values go down? Probably not, the town will just raise the rate to pay for all their increased spending. The money has to come from somewhere? Looks like my property taxes for a quarter acre waterfront are up about 400% in the last five years. Hey Buddy, got any spare change?

Fatlazyless: Every time you make a reference to the cost of something and big mac's it puts a smile on my face. My taxes on my land are 1000 hambergers
![]() The spend spend spend mentality of government these days and the thought that we have to help everyone is going to ruin this country. As sad as it is some people have to be poor. Russia tried communism and it did not work. ![]() ![]() |
