Kingswood Country club
This past Saturday evening my wife and I attended a function at the Kingswood Country Club. Now I’m not a finicky eater and eat most anything. To say the food was bad does little justice and on top of that it was a buffet.
Not one item served was worth saying anything good about. The Salmon was overcooked dry and tasteless, the pork, also overcooked and even the gravy it was served in did nothing to help the fact it was all dried out. The potatoes consisted of a medley that for the most part had you guessing as to what you were in fact eating, again dry and tasteless. Lastly there was spinach, bacon and mushroom combination that was somewhat palatable. I’m not sure if their regular menu is better than what they served that night but I know two who would rather not drive ½ way around the lake to find out. The Shanghi in downtown Laconia puts what we had to shame and I’d rate them pretty low for consistent quality, although I have been surprised from time to time. Why did Willows have to close? |

Morrissey's catering?
The normal catering at Kingswood is done by Morrissey's, the same folks that have Morrissey's Front Porch, just down the street from the club.
I have not been a fan of MFP since they took over from Bailey's. I have not heard a lot of good comments about the food at Kingswood, so your complaints don't really surprise me. Too bad...nice clubhouse and good be a good asset to a nice course.

Not affiliated with The Front Porch or the golf club but we go to the restaurant quite a bit. We have always found the food to be very good. The same goes for Front Porch. We were last there less then two weeks ago.

OH, don't say that Belmont as we have a funtion there coming right up. I think you mean Club 59, right? Last year we had a function there and had wonderful food. They did a fabulous job! Appetizers and the meal were all great. Will let you know how it goes.
