Default Maple Surgaring pano from Meredith

I drive by Sugarbear's Sugarhouse everyday on Route 104, I've taken a ton of photos of it in the fall.

Well, the steam is rising out the top, and yesterday they had their open flag out, so I stopped it to take some pictures.

Next weekend is the big NH Maple Weekend, so you'll have many chances to check out the sugar houses.

They get their sap from a farm about 2 miles from my house. So it's as local as I can get for syrup, mmmmm.

Kirk
Thanks SO MUCH for sharing -- that's what I expect a sugarhouse to look like, having lived my life in NH........ Not too many of the "authentic" ones left, compared to what there were back in the day. I read somewhere recently however that syrup-making is enjoying a resurgance, among hobbyists, which is encouraging! I sure miss the smell of it in the air, it was one of the first smells saying spring was coming when I was young!

Kirk, thanks for the info on Maple Weekend -- I'll probably miss it this year (hubby and I will be in the Lakes Region next week, but will be heading back to PA before the weekend) but will keep it in mind for next year! We went to the Maple Festival in Vermont while visiting family about 8 or 9 years ago and really enjoyed it.

Edit... oh, I read something wrong since I'm reading this on Monday. Maybe we'll be able to catch some of the Maple action on Sunday!
