Thumbs up

I am surprised to see this one scheduled. Creedence Clearwater Revisited

http://www.meadowbrook.net/?page=eve...ow_code=061709

Why see the pretenders when you could have seen the real thing?

John Fogarty was at Meadowbrook last summer. His show was fabulous. He played all his great CCR hits, many of his own, and his voice has not lost a tone in all these years.

Two of my children who weren't sure who he was went with us. They loved it. Every new song he played was greated with a delighted, "Oh, I know this one!"

The part that was disappointing was that the place was only 2/3rds full.

Doug Clifford and Stu Cook are two of the 4 original members of CCR.

We're going to that show but it's because I'm a big fan of the Outlaws.

John toured with Mellencamp two summers ago. That was a great combo.

It's Fogerty, BTW.

Yes, but Fogerty (can't believe I did that) was the true talent. The songwriter and vocals.

No argument there.

John is touring but is out west and in Europe all summer.

Default Music Venue of the Year Nominee

Meadowbrook was nominated again for Music Venue of the Year by the Academy of Country Music this year. I think the awards air tonight.

The CMA website says that The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville won, though.

Say what you want about the show line-ups - everyone's taste is different - but they bring people into the area! Congrats Meadowbrook!

Exclamation Another Non Country Option

Korn and Burn Halo were just added to the roster at Meadowbrook for the Rock on Festival 2009.
