Awesome that you get to see them in sunlight. The ones that played in my yard in the morning, were usually gone by sunrise. I would have to be up at around 4 am to see them. But, I did see, and here them in the woods at night. The Mama would actually come right up to my deck with me sitting there. But the Papa Fox would just be out in the woods barking or growling at me.

Last night I heard some loud grunting, off in the dark not too far away, when I went out on the deck. I also heard what sounded like a small tree coming down. I assume this was Mr/Mrs. Bear warning me to stay away....

Very COOL!

Thank you so much for sharing those pictures, what a treasure! I haven't seen a fox for so long around the lake I was beggining to wonder. They are truly beautiful.

There's been a red fox hanging around our neighborhood in Wolfeboro the past few days. My husband was outside yesterday and the fox came charging across our driveway chasing something. Aren't foxes usually nocturnal animals?

I don't think foxes are classified as nocturnal, like raccoons are for instance. However that doesn't excuse them from wandering out once in a while at night. I could be wrong though
