The Lake Winnipesaukee cruise ship, the Mount Washington was the host last Friday night to the annual Belknap County Republican's Lincoln Day Dinner Cruise. It's a three hour cruise around the lake where for 40 bucks, loyal local Republicans get to stuff themselves with a choice of prime rib or some fish repartee, hobknob with local leaders, and perhaps enjoy an adult beverage or two. A welcome night for them to get out and strut their ideological stuff.
This year's big event included Gov John Sununu, a three term Republican New Hampshire Governor, serving in the 1980's, who has recently got back into the NH poltical frey as the state leader of the state Republican party. No, I was not on board the Mount to hear him talk, but it was not necessary to be on board to be able to hear the loud tones of Gov Sununu's voice. At about 9:30 as the Mount was on the last leg of its three hour cruise and was approaching Governor's Island I noticed the Mount had slowed its speed down to a slow crawl as it sliced through the quiet waters of the night. Republicans on board, all wined and dined and stuffed to the gills must have been in their comfort zone as the big boat slowly putt-putted past mcmansion after mcmansion, valued up in the millions, each one complete with an enormous house, well kept lawns, granite breakwater docks and big fancy boats. Coming across the watery night from about one mile away, it was easy to discern Governor Sununu's loud voice as he was preaching out to the local faithfull, on-board the Mount, all very well padded into their comfy surroundings. ![]() ![]() Lose the fat - vote Democrat!

I was on that cruise. I never saw the prime rib or the well padded folks. The people aboard were out enjoying an evening on the lake and loving NH.

Not quite following what you're saying herem FLL -- what exactly is it? A rant? A comment? And if the Mount was "host" to the Republicans, why did it cost $40 per to go on the cruise?

Does this have something to do about Obama taking his wife to NYC for a 'night out'?
What's the drift?
