Default Two stories

Ah yes, been there...felt that!! But here's hope: the year I was married ,in NH, it rained for about 25 straight days in front of June 20--the wedding day. I'd given up on a sunny day, but at sunset, the 19th there WAS a sunset...the next day was beautiful, and the rest of the summer was hot and sunny...almost non-stop.

The other one happened years later: it was cold and dreary forever that May & June. We went camping up at Russell Pond near Lincoln over the 4th of July. It was so cold we had a camp fire going non-stop and I was in my winter parka, pretty much holding my hands over the fire all the time. We gave up and came home to Laconia...the next day out came the sun; and the rest of the summer...and into the fall ...was very hot and sunny.

It can happen...keep hoping! BTW, those were NOT the only nice summers, either...but sometimes they can take their sweet time arriving!

Default weather blues

Remembering one of our family vacations many years ago in Melvin Village (late 80's??) . We looked forward to that week SO MUCH, and every day was chilly, rainy and dreary. On Saturday morning when we were packing up to come home the sun finally came out. I was feeling depressed about that until....I came home and heard that a tornado came through town right after we left.
Oh well...New England weather, always different. Hoping it gets warm and sunny soon though, as I'm coming up in a week and 1/2...can't wait !!!

She said, "why do you want to go to the lake if it's raining" and I said "why do you want to stay home if it's raining"

Not long after getting married and vacationing in June during a continuous downpour at Lake Winnipesaukee, I received a FAXed subpoena to appear in Criminal Court as a witness—six days and 1600 miles away!

There was still a downpour upon my return, and I got definitely got that "long stare".

Do you recall what year that was? Early 80s?

Monday was clear, mid-70s, with a light breeze—a perfect day for most any activity!

(I know, 'cuz I went sailing for the first time this season).

Default tornado in Melvin Village

no, I'm going to guess that is was either 86, 87 or 88.
I know it wasn't 89 or after that.
The entire week before it was cold, rainy and grey. A challenge to keep two kids happy and busy. But of course, no matter what the weather, it's always a treat to be up at the lake.

Default rain

Go to the lake when its raining, or suppose to rain all weekend? or stay in Ct where it perhaps will rain all weekend. Why would I stay in CT. Lets see, could be the cost of GAS to get there and back but I would say that the company I would be in (in NH) I will miss.
But then my dog misses me when I am gone.
