Big Moose
Captured this big guy from the sun roof of my car on a crummy Black Berry Camera at the rotary on Rt 25 in Plymouth at 7pm last evening. Wish I could have got a head on shot as his rack was enormous. It is only because his legs are in a marsh area that you don't get the full extent of his enormous size.

Moose!
Wow! I'd love to see a moose up there. A few years ago, I was driving on Route 3 south in Holderness, and I saw a large deer come bounding up out of the woods and across the highway. Practically right in front of the car. He was a BIG guy! It was near the Yankee Trail Motel. A startling sight!

The best place to view a moose is from the boat. The second best would be from the car.

Excellent catch. Certainly would not to play tag with my car and him.
I always find it amazing that there are still animals of that kind of great size wandering around. Must take enormous amounts of food to sustain a fellow that big. I did see a Moose up near Mt Major last week on the side of the road but it was either a youngster or a female as no big set of antlers on it. Once again nice picture. |

Best luck
I have seen Moose on at least 6-7 occasions and all have been at either dawn or dusk (this big guy was on the early side of dusk). 5 of those times were at dawn on the kancamangus(sp) heading to ski early in the AM. This is the first one I have ever seen with a rack that was not mounted in some pub.
The only reason we saw this one, was due to 3 other cars parked by the side of the road. by the time we pulled out it had swollen to 15. The best chance to see one is usually when you see a group of cars stopped where they have no busiess stopping. |
