Can folks recommend a repair shop which does 'fiberglass' repairs.
Have a small job, to fix. Only about 2"x4" to repair. Don't want to DIY, but leave to a professional with the right tools and materials. Have searched the Forum for 'Fiberglass Repair' category, but only came up with one hit 'Unique Boat Restoration in Moultonborough'. Can folks suggest other shops in the Gilford, Laconia, Alton, Meredith area. Thanks, BD |

However, my personal experience with the above business was terrible at best. He looked at the job, started the job, promised to finish the job several times after Many phone calls to him and a few scheduled appointments that he never showed up for. One time he even got nasty on the phone. He then eventually told the owner that he had no intentions of finishing the job. In fairness, he never did charge for an of the initial work he started. But this is not a professional manor in which to do business and therefore this is not a man or a business that I could Ever recommend to anybody. Be Cautious !! |

I think you should repost this under boat repairs and maintenance. Might get better answers.

I used Whitemountain Fiberglass in Rumney. Easy to work with and great work.
Your project sounds small and can likely be handled by most marinas. |

If this repair is to your "new" Sunfish, is it damage that will require cutting out the damaged section?
![]() For a proper repair, any perforation of the hull or cracks leading away from the immediate area would require cutting out the affected hull section—however small. This could actually be to some advantage, if the Sunfish needs the typical "drying-out". (Usually done on hulls weighing over 134 pounds, and best accomplished during the long months of Winter). ![]() ![]() ![]() With only a few weeks left to summer—and the arrival of prolonged days of high winds and cooler waters—a duct-taped repair should get you through to October. (Even taped below the waterline—I'm serious!) ![]() ![]() |
