Not on chart. Getting dark at 70 feet. Some think it's a Lyman. Swim ladder is under the dash; Canvas can be seen rolled up and laid over on to dash. License plate said 1967. All-in-all wreck is in decent shape as wrecks go.

Ha! This must've been shot shortly after Senter Cove Guy & I dove this in early June, as the smiley face I drew into the muck on the windshield is briefly/partially visible at about the 2:14 mark of the video.
Cool wreck. Thanks for these videos.

It is a great video. I have never seen a 25' Lyman with that style windshield. I remember that all the larger Lymans from the 50's and 60's had wood framed windshields that I have seen or aluminum in the style of the wood ones. The bow is not like a Lyman as it does not show a center wood strip from windshield to bow but it could be a Chis Craft or Thompson too.
Some of the 16' lymans may have had after market curved windshields added. Downings in Alton had rental 16' boats that did not come with any windshield at all. Lyman Archive web site: http://www.clinkerbuilt.com/ Lyman Boats Web site: http://www.lymanboat.com/ My dad had a 1959 19' Lyman inboard runabout from Downings

Nice boat, a little bondo and some Marvel mystery oil and it could probably be touring the lake again some day....

The camera is a Sony TRV900 in a Light & Motion Sting Ray Housing. It is also for sale-my buddy wants $1,000.

Here is a picture of the license plate that was on this boat. The number, to me, suggests that this boat was likely a marina rental or fleet boat. Would love to hear from anyone who might have some knowledge of this wreck.

At the time I found this boat wreck and the wreckage nearby I didn't own my towed EdgeTech commercial sonar just the helm-mounted Humminbird 1197 SSS.
Attached are some so-so EdgeTech images showing the boat and what is very likely another piece of the Mt. Washington approx. 80 feet away. I've found and dived enough of pieces of the Mount-like 10 of them-that I am confident it is more of her. The approx. length of this wreckage is 24 feet so it's big and I can tell from the image it's a mess-likely from the explosives used to dismantle her as Senter Cove Guy and I have seen numerous times when we dive these finds. Senter Cove Guy asked me today if I dove this other piece of wreckage nearby and I really don't remember. |

The first time I read the post, I thought the explosion was on the 24' motorboat. Two seconds later the Prevagen kicked in and I was back on course. Makes me curious how/why the motorboat sunk. Sinking big boats that had no more life expectancy was not uncommon. By the sixties, not so much.

Attached is a brief newspaper article about the blowing up of the Old Mount into pieces that were then loaded onto barges before dropping them in deep water.
