Thumbs up Boy Scouts

That handsome young man in his Scout uniform looks like an Eagle to me! Congratulations to him! My youngest son was also awarded the Eagle back in 1997 just as he was graduating from high school. It's a great accomplishment and much to be proud of!

Thank you ! Yes, he got his Eagle this past summer. The two younger boys ("younger" - 23 and 18 now :-) ) got their eagles and it's really great. Nothing but good things to say about scouting, that's for sure! Congrats to your boy for sticking with it and getting this highest award in scouting!!

Peace.

Steve

Hi MiShel,

You know, no one got any pics of the Island crew this year, but we do have a couple of pics your "Island Shuttle I" which are sure to bring back "warm" and "fond" memories Something to laugh at now, but at the time

Before (the stern is completely submerged):

Default The Angel on the Top of the Christmas Tree

Merry Christmas to all.

I'm told this is a true story.

One particular Christmas season a long time ago, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip... but there were problems everywhere.

Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More stress. Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys.

Frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee and a shot of whiskey. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered that the elves had hid the liquor and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the coffee pot and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from. Just then the doorbell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door.

He opened the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said, very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas Santa. Isn't it just a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Isn't it just a lovely tree? Where would you like me to stick it?"

Thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

You are a very brave santa. It obvious that you are use to the cold---after all you spend most of the year at the North Pole. Try to stay warm and dry so you don't get sick. All the children need you to come by and eat the cookies that they are leaving for you. Oh and don't forget to drink the milk.
MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

May your Christmas be filled with Peace, Love and Music!

We have had a very special year, It's amazing how someone so little can fill your heart with Joy!

We can hardly believe that she is almost 1 year old! Time passes so fast, and when you're "Over the Hill" you seem to gain speed!

Thanks Don and to all of my friends for another great year on Winni.com.

Didn't someone say "Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes". I just don't remember who said it!!!

Have a joyous Christmas!

Regards,

Steve

I was 9 years old when that broadcast happened. I remember seeing it on our little black and white tube TV that we had to smack on it's side to get it to come on. My Father was in Vietnam at the time on his first tour. One of those moments you never forget. Wow...so long ago.....

Default Eagles

Island, it is nice to see those Eagles soaring. As a former Scoutmaster and current committee member, I understand the level of commitment by the scouts and their parents. Congratulations.

Merry Christmas to all!
